Haiti: Review
On the anniversary of the first 25yrs of my existence on this earth i was fortunate enough to
be around during the creation and recording of "We are the World" an American Benefit
single for African famine relief. 25 years later the people of Haiti endured a crisis that is
beyond belief and a revised version of the hit song was released on Feb 12. This time
around new faces, new names and a new review from guess who? Here is my critique in
order of appearance
Justin Bieber: They choose a kid staying up way past his bedtime to fill Lionel's shoes?
Jennifer Hudson: This voluptuous bombshell can sing
Josh Groban: Better than Steve Perry
Jennifer Kettles:I like her Better than Kenny Rogers
Tony Bennett : Might as well have invited Andy Williams He's gonna give money to Haiti?
He wouldnt even tip El Toro for bringing his luggage to the hotel room
Mary J Blige : Thank god they didnt ask Tina back
MJ and Janet : Used MJ footage from first video and new footage of Janet . Out of respect i
think it was the right thing to do
Barbara Streisand : I thought she sounded almost out of breath during the end
Myle Cyrus : Not bad for a snotnose
Enrique Iglesias: If your gonna change the lyrics he's the wrong guy for the job. Better
suited for an Oscar Delahoya documentary
Jaime Fox : Cant decide if he should be Al Jarreau or Ray Charles
Wyclef Jean: He can sing and he's from Haiti
Adam Levin: He can sing and he's Jewish
Pink: Cant sing a lick but can double for Bridgett Neilson in Rocky 4
Usher: Still got it
Celine Dion: Her voice can send chills down one's spine but why is Lionel coaching her?
Fergie: Decent nothing to write home about
Lil Wayne: The future of the recording industry
LL cool J, Busta Rhymes, Kanye, Snoop Dog & other rappers: The rap really
saved the song or else it would have gone down as just another so so remake of what was
considered a classic.
Tina Turner Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan , Ray Charles(deceased) & Stevie Wonder were not in
attendance 25yrs after realizing how horrible they sounded on the first go around. Prince
passed on the 1985 invite because he didn't want to sing with MJ or didn't feel comfortable
singing with other performers. What was Madonna's second excuse for not showing again
25yrs later ? She had 25yrs to come up with a better excuse than the first one.
