THE KING HAS
LEFT THE
BUILDING FOR
GOOD
I really enjoyed performing Elvis for the crowd in Biloxi and Lula MS. The sponsors did not
ask for my services which would have really given me a reason to bitch in regard to the
aftermath of my performance. I personally asked the sponsor if they wanted Elvis for the
shows in Biloxi and Lula and they gave me the green light . At least some of  the Biloxi fans
exhibited some love praising  me after my performance. The Lula fans (the few that showed)
more than likely were not around when Elvis was living nor when he died. My horse voice
combined with an elderly but  inexperienced DJ that had problems cue  up songs, still drew
a considerable amount of cheers. If i knew that the location of this MS city housed potential if
not current members of the witness protection program i wouldn't have bothered making the
journey. I say that with some sarcasm for i truly believe that a high end GPS would still have
a problem locating this place on the map. That is probably the sole reason why the media
was void from this event. Trying to locate the Isle of Capri casino is like searching for a
needle in a haystack. It cost me a missed return flight and $50 service charge.   If i didn't
bring my camcorder my performance along with the contest itself would never have been
preserved . Some of the Lula residents might have snapped a pic or two or possibly a video
but that was for their personal memories  and not mine.  As far as my performance, i received
one email from Mike Antolini praising me for a job well done. A class act indeed.  I never
heard from the sponsors in regard to the Elvis performance. Elissa Plastino happens to be a
very lovely and gracious individual which was why i was shocked that i didn't at least
receive a thank you.  I didn't expect red carpet billing because lets face it this is about an
eating contest and not about an  Elvis impersonation but a mention or two would have been
nice,. The two media outlets My Fox Memphis and ABC 24 were the only sources involved
with the event and both were reserved for Tim Eater X Janus. Scroll through this
TWITTER
PAGE and you will get some sort of an idea as to why im bitching. There is nothing wrong
with hyping someone that fits the mold of a media darling but after you glance through that
twitter page  its almost as if it's being rubbed in our face. Some years back IFOCE.com
would hype Crazy Legs  tv  appearances on a consistent basis. After awhile IFOCE refrained
from that type of exposure either because they wanted to keep a low profile or a few jealous
members complained bitterly. You might be surprised to read that i was not one of them.
When Ed Jarvis competed he was more concerned about media exposure  than competing
and for good reason. If you are a champion eater you want the media to be there and write
about it. Elvis in Lula was comparable to Crazy Legs comment on a defunct MLE message
board. "Im basically talking to myself but i dont mind" . If the media showed up at Lula
would  i be guaranteed a stairway to the stars? Certainly not but its nice to know that
someone in the media acknowledged your existence on stage. Basically what i did
encounter was a few hostile female hotel clerks at the check in desk of the casino  that
refused to have a room ready for me until 4pm. Mind you this was after i confirmed several
days prior that a room would be available at 12 noon sharp. Mind you this brief altercation
occurred while i was dressed in the Elvis attire. No respect for the king of rock and roll. What
i did encounter was a somewhat filthy Casino buffet featuring greasy platters of artery
clogged delicacies with a waitress periodically standing over you expecting a tip.  With that
said don't expect Elvis to enter the building anytime soon unless these stipulations are met.
A. indoor performance only B. some sort of compensation for my efforts  C.  At least one
source of media other than the sponsors  covering the event and   my performance . I might
come off as arrogant which im sure most are accustomed to, but  im speaking the truth and i
don't think my demands fall into the category of "outrageous"  More like "practical" On the
flip side  the Dorney Park Cheesesteak sponsors have gotten off on the right track even
before the contest takes place promising  tons of media coverage ,  free parking and theme
park  admission passes for the confirmed eaters In Yiddish terms  thats what i consider to be
 a real "Mench"
